As part of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis’ multi-million-dollar renovation and grand reopening of its historic 12,200-square-foot ballroom, Bazan Painting Co. contributed specialized finishing work that helped elevate one of the Midwest’s premier event venues.

The renovation—led by design firm BAMO and coordinated with BSI Constructors—transformed the Grand Ballroom and adjoining event spaces in celebration of the hotel’s 35th anniversary, integrating high-end materials and intricate design elements throughout the Event Corridor and ballroom.

Our team completed a range of detailed finishing tasks requiring precision, expertise, and careful coordination with the hotel’s luxury design vision. 

• Removal and installation of new decorative wallcoverings. These wallcoverings function as a large-scale mural throughout the Event Corridor and required alignment to maintain the intended color, texture, and dimensional flow.

This project required collaboration with the design and construction teams as The Ritz-Carlton reintroduced its revitalized ballroom to host weddings, galas, and corporate celebrations. Our craftsmanship contributed to an event space that remains true to the property’s long-standing reputation for luxury.

Schnucks Markets partnered with Bazan Painting Co. to modernize the floor at their recent Mahomet, IL total store remodel project.

Our team repaired cracks, replaced expansion joint material, and prepared the substrate after the General Contractor removed the existing flooring. A 2,600 sq. ft. oval in the center of the store was contained with negative air, shaved 1/2 inch around the perimeter, and abraded for proper profiling.

An epoxy primer with sand broadcast was installed, followed by 1/2 inch of Rapid Set TruPC Architectural Concrete Topping. The same method was used where floor drains and trenches were replaced.

The entire sales area was then ground, densified, and polished to a 3,000 finish using dust-collection systems. Work was performed after hours, out of town, with crews ranging from 4 to 15 painters over approximately four months. The project required coordinated scheduling, logistics management, substrate repair, TruPC installation, and large-scale concrete polishing.

Precision was required while laying out and measuring the exact placement of the pool lines on the PVC surface. Because the floor surface was uneven, masking off the layout presented a challenge.

An additional complication arose when the blue coating selected for the cross-lane hash marks did not match the existing pool tile. With no time to reorder material—and because the underwater coating could not be tinted—our team quickly adapted. Using black paint available on-site, our painters created a custom color match that perfectly aligned with the client’s desired shade, saving time and cost.

Prepping and painting the pit beneath the pool floor presented its own set of difficulties, but our painters met the challenge and completed the project ahead of schedule.
